Helicopter Ride Over the Strip or Grand Canyon

This is one of the most romantic things to do in Las Vegas. Cos and Robin took a helicopter tour that flew over the strip, then over the Hoover Dam, and finally landed on the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. While the West Rim is not as dramatic as the South or North Rims, it was a truly amazing trip, and a very scenic experience.

Neon Museum

The Neon Museum in Las Vegas is one of the city’s most iconic cultural attractions — an open‑air collection of more than 250 historic neon signs that once lit up the Strip. It’s nostalgic, artistic, and surprisingly romantic, making it a great stop for couples, photographers, and anyone who loves classic Vegas history.

Favorite Fine Dining Restaurants on The Strip

There are two main areas of Las Vegas, the Strip and the Downtown area. The Strip is where you will find all the well known hotels previously mentioned (The Mirage, Planet Hollywood, Paris, New York New York, MGM Grand, Bellagio, he Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Caesars Palace, and Treasure island). These great hotels, highlight The Strip, and contain many of the great restaurants.

The Bedford By Marth Stewart

In the Paris Hotel, Martha Stewart just opened her first restaurant. It is designed to makes you feel like you are in her home in Bedford, NY. It’s warm, elegant, and surprisingly intimate for a Strip restaurant.

Thomas Keller's restaurant, Bouchon, at the Venetian is a great place for brunch. Okay, you can eat other great meals there as well. But we like it first thing in the morning after a night on the town.

Bazaar Meats by Jose Andres

There are a number of great steak house restaurants on The Strip. Our favorite Steak House is at the north end of the strip, in the Sahara Hotel. It is well named, Bazaar Meats, by Jose Andres.

As with all that is Jose Andres, this is over the top!

Here is how it compares to the the other top-rated Steak House on the strip:

Bazaar Meat vs. SW Steakhouse (Wynn)

SW Steakhouse is best for classic luxury, perfect execution, and lake views. Difference:

  • SW is refined, traditional, and consistent — think prime cuts, elegant sauces, and a polished dining room.
  • Bazaar Meat is theatrical, experimental, and Spanish‑influenced — jamón ibérico, foie gras cotton candy, wagyu tasting flights.
  • If you want a classic steakhouse, SW wins.
  • If you want a memorable, adventurous meal, Bazaar wins.

Bazaar Meat vs. CUT by Wolfgang Puck (Palazzo)

CUT by Wolfgang Puck is best for modern, minimalist, ultra‑high‑quality beef, Difference:

  • CUT is laser‑focused on beef quality and precision cooking.
  • Bazaar Meat is more about the experience — whole suckling pig, fire‑roasted meats, and playful small plates.
  • CUT is the better “serious steak” restaurant.
  • Bazaar is the better “wow factor” restaurant.

Bazaar Meat vs. Golden Steer (Classic Vegas)

Golden Steer is classic and is the best for Old‑school Rat Pack nostalgia. Difference:

  • Golden Steer is vintage Vegas — leather booths, Caesar salad made tableside.
  • Bazaar Meat is modern, loud, and culinary‑forward.
  • Golden Steer wins for nostalgia.
  • Bazaar wins for innovation.

Bazaar Meat vs. Delmonico (Venetian)

Delmonico is best for New Orleans‑influenced steakhouse with deep flavors. Difference:

  • Delmonico leans into bold seasoning, bourbon, and rich sauces.
  • Bazaar Meat leans into Spanish flavors, avant‑garde plating, and premium wagyu.
  • Delmonico is comfort and richness.
  • Bazaar is creativity and spectacle.

Bazaar Meat vs. Jean‑Georges Steakhouse (Aria)

Jean-George is best for high‑end, globally influenced steakhouse. Difference:

  • Jean‑Georges is refined, balanced, and elegant.
  • Bazaar Meat is more playful, more dramatic, and more adventurous.
  • Jean‑Georges is the safer, more universally appealing choice.
  • Bazaar is the choice for food lovers who want something different.

Less Costly Steak Restaurants on the Strip

There are also a number of Hidden Gem steak restaurants that are not as expensive as those mentioned above. One we like, still on The Strip, is "THE Steakhouse at Circus Circus". It is not as fancy as the others, but it offers a good steak, but in a classic, somewhat tired setting.  Best is that it doesn't send you off to the bank to fund the rest of your evening, and still providing a good steak.

Other Inexpensive Places to Eat on the Strip

However, when it comes to finding other inexpensive Hidden Gems, our #1 favorite place to get a good inexpensive meal is a place know as "Secret Pizza." It is hidden away on the second floor of the Cosmopolitan, near the Jaleo restaurant. It is not unanimous that they have the best pizza in the city. But it is clearly our number one place to get a good inexpensive meal on The Strip.

Save Money, Eat in the Las Vegas Suburbs

There are at least two other restaurants we like, but out to the west of the city. Getting there mandates a car or Uber ride. Our favorites are The Black Sheep, and Sparrow + Wolf. Both offer a great meal, at about half the cost of the trendy restaurants on The Strip. For more information about restaurants see Our Favorite Restaurants Post.

Downtown, Las Vegas (Fremont Street Experience & Arts District)

The Downtown Area is where Las Vegas started and it also has its share of fun. It too is a bit of a HIdden Gem, given its lower status to the Strip. There is a zipline going down the center of downtown. And, there are also plenty of bars with just walkup windows off the main street. If you want to stay downtown, Marriot's Grand Chateau is a new downtown hotel. It is clearly in a class of its own.

Here are the things that make Downtown Las Vegas a good place to visit:

Las Vegas is a playground for couples — whether you want luxury, adventure, romance, or pure fun. Each hotel offers its own personality and experiences, and the surrounding desert adds a layer of magic you won’t find anywhere else.
