| Whew, where did the month go? Today is the last day of January 2024. Hopefully, I will be able to get this, our 13th consecutive monthly newsletter, out in time. Also, a belated “Happy New Year 2024” to all. As we promised when you first signed up, only one newsletter a month. If I get this newsletter out today we will stick with my New Year’s resolution to meet that promise in 2024. So far, so good. At least I am doing better than my “Dry January” resolution. As you may recall from our post last month, Robin had a fall on Christmas Eve and ended up with a few broken bones in her feet and her leg. Fortunately, her recovery is going well enough that we were able to make two trips this month. First, a drive to Miami and Key West Florida, and second, our annual journey to Park City, Utah. The Park City trip gave us our first opportunity to try out airport handicap services. It was nice to be first on the plane. If we hadn’t used the wheelchair service we couldn’t have made the Park City Trip. Some advice, just make sure you tip the drivers. They worked hard to push Robin around the airports. New Posts in January The four posts that we published this month are Valuing Travel Rewards Points, Fact About Panama, Key West For Couples, and Best Brunch in Park City, Utah. You can follow any of the links to read the posts, but here is a short description of this month’s feature story. Key West, Florida Our post “Key West for Couples” gave us incentive to travel to Key West with 6 other couples. As a result we got to enjoy the town with the “Gang of 14”, as we christened the group. Our post covers some fun things to do in Key West, how to get there and the best way to get around. We also highlight some of the historic places to visit including Hemingway’s home and the famous Duval Street dive bars. However, I must warn. Organizing travel with a group as large as 8 or more people can be a real challenge. Fourteen is impossible, good luck. By the way, if you want to learn more about Hemingway, please visit the Hemingway Home & Museum website for more information. You can also find some tips and reviews from other travelers who have visited the house. On our drive down to Key West, we stopped in Miami both on the way down and on the return. We were fortunate to visit the Wynwood Design District which contains the greatest collection of Street Art that we have ever seen. Please check out our Love Graffiti Art Post for some great new pics. Valuing Travel Rewards Points Travel Rewards Points are critical in helping you manage your travel budget. They also help to elevate your status with any airline, cruise or hotel chain. However, a big travel decision is: “Do I use my points or pay cash?” As promised, our new “Valuing Travel Rewards Points” Post contains a spreadsheet tool that will help you make those decisions. Please visit the site and download the spreadsheet tool. Next Month: From our starting point in Park City, Utah, we will be traveling out to California to visit my son and his family in San Diego. From there we will be headed out to Oahu and the Big Island in Hawaii. Stay tuned for some new or updated blogs from those fun cities.
As to anyone who might be tracking our 2023 goal to get to 100 posts on the blog, with the four new ones this month we are now up to 97 posts and pages. Next month, we should be able to make the goal two months late. Finally, we wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. Make sure you take care of your sweetheart. |
